Embrace Change: Spring Cleansing for the Mind, Body, and Spirit

As the season and temperature begins to change, there are a lot of astrological transits encouraging us to pause, unwind, and reflect. Transits always prove themselves to be excellent for harnessing the energy you intend to. If there’s not a specific goal you’re working towards at the moment, this could be a great moment to set your sights on some new ones or re-strategize to complete a previous goal set. Spring is personally my favorite season because it signifies the growth and blossoming of nature after being dormant in the colder, winter months. Although it does rain a lot during the Spring, the message I’ve always gotten from this season is that while nothing lasts forever, there’s always more chances for something beautiful to grow. This overall just feels like a great time to reset, change direction, and move towards better suited options. I usually advocate for this during Virgo season however, I’m saying it now during Pisces season which is Virgo’s sister sign because it applies.

Astrological Transits

Spring cleaning isn’t just about tidying up our physical spaces; it’s a sacred ritual that allows us to cleanse our minds, bodies, and spiritus, aligning ourselves cosmically with the energy of progress and transformation. Astrologically, the upcoming months bring significant transits that emphasize the importance of embracing change and embarking on a journey of spiritual renewal. With Venus entering Pisces on Monday March 11th, 2024, we’re urged to connect with the depths of emotional world and embrace compassion as well as forgiveness. This transit will last until Saturday April 6th, 2024 and encourages us to release stagnant energies and make space for love and harmony to flow freely within and around us. In order to make space and welcome new energy to flow in such as love and harmony to flow freely within and around us. Whenever a flow of energy is stopped or changed, this results in detachment or deletion. This is essentially the same thing that happens when a boundary is put in place. Pisces is traditionally ruled by Jupiter however, modern astrologers often associate it with Neptune a generational planet responsibility for mystery, projections, artistry, illusion, confusion, and deeper or universal truths. This can sometimes cause information to be revealed quite suddenly, and it usually brings a shock factor. I like to think in that aspect it embodies it’s sidereal Aquarius nature which tends to be unexpected, but profound.

The New Moon in Pisces happening on Sunday March 10th, 2024 heralds a time of introspection and spiritual growth, inviting us to dive deep into the waters of our subconscious minds and uncover hidden truths. It’s a potent moment for setting intentions that align with our soul’s deepest desires and shedding old patterns that no longer serve our highest good. Read this previous blog post on Moon transits to learn what to do during a New Moon. Pisces moon transits are excellent times for creating art, journaling, doing spiritual readings, napping, daydreaming, channeling spiritual messages. Be sure to give yourself if you find this to be an emotional or sensitive time for you especially if you have any prominent placements in Pisces such as Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars, Rising, or Mercury.

On Saturday March 9th, 2024, Mars will enter its ruling sign of Aries. Known as the fiery planet of action, assertion, physical and sexual energy, and ambition. This transit occurs almost every two years and is usually responsible for igniting conflict, giving us the motivation and energy we need to get more done, and increasing our libido. It brings forth a surge of vitality and courage, urging us to boldly pursue our goals and desires. In Aries, Mars is relentless with passion and determination fueling our ambitions and pushing us into action. Mars influence brings a heightened sense of urgency and assertiveness, eager to conquer challenges and seize opportunities with unwavering confidence. However, despite this, its crucial to control impulsivity and channel Mars’ energy constructively, avoiding conflicts and harnessing our assertiveness with mindfulness. Mars in Aries inspires us to embrace courage, initiative, and value our independence while doing so. Be empowered to pioneer new paths and assert your individuality in pursuit of your aspirations fearlessly and manifest those dreams!

Spiritually clean

During this time, embody the power of astrological transits to guide you through your spring cleaning rituals. Clear out clutter from your physical space to create room for fresh vibrant energy. You may find it helpful to put some Florida water in your mop water. Burn some palo santo when you’re done cleaning to bless your space. Buy a fresh bouquet of flowers to adorn your space and as an offering on your altar. Speaking of altars always make sure you replace the water for your ancestors and if you are able to, leave food for them as an offering. If your ancestors favored something in particular such as sweets feel free to offer them that instead. I mentioned earlier how Pisces is traditionally ruled by Jupiter which can be appeased by charity, philanthropy, and acts of kindness. This is a great time to donate to others or help them in whichever ways you’re able to. If you’re not in a position to donate money, you can always offer help completing a task, giving your time to those in need, or giving away items you don’t use or that are no longer of use to you. Everyone has some stuff in their room that the know they don’t use and probably never will, but we like to hold onto things for longer than we should for whatever reason. Don’t stop at your space, extend your cleansing to your mind and body as well.

Better Habits

If there are any healthy or wellness related habits you’re interested in, now would be a good time to implement those behaviors into your routine. Whether it’s to be more physically active, healthier eating habits, a new skincare routine, starting your spiritual journey, less screen time, etc. Whatever your goal is, you can train your mind to choose differently starting at any moment so there’s no need to wait for a certain time to begin your journey towards the best you. Practice mindfulness and meditation to quiet the chatter of your busy mind, allowing space for inner peace and clarity to emerge. Engaging in body cleansing practices such as yoga, detoxifying diets, or spending time in nature to purify your physical vessel and reconnect with the Earth’s healing energies. If you’re able to, doing these activities in nature might help you connect better.

Remember these are all powerful tools for spiritual growth and fulfillment. By releasing what no longer serves you and inviting in fresh, positive energies, you’ll experience a profound sense of renewal and vitality. As you embark on your spring cleansing journey, remember to remain in tune with yourself and align your actions to be open to any changes that may occur. Give gratitude for the space of transition and recognize what is being gained not lost. Embrace the opportunity to cleanse your mind, body, and spirit, and walk into this season with a open perspective and a light heart.
